Handel in Ireland - Bridget Cunningham
Price: £15.00
Handel was invited to Ireland by the Duke of Devonshire in 1741, culminating in the first performance of the Messiah at a Dublin hospital in 1742.
Bridget Cunningham's CD is based on this visit, and contains harpsichord music by Handel, Roseingrave and Carter, including harpsichord arrangements from Handel's Rinaldo by William Babell. Also included are two traditional Irish melodies; one much admired by Handel, and the other copied in a Handel manuscript.
