‘Hetty Feather’ offers a thought-provoking and entertaining addition to KS2 classwork on Victorian Britain. The Foundling Museum has worked with publisher Random House to create Teacher’s Notes, incorporating pupil tasks, to accompany the reading of the book in school. Download the notes from this page.

On this page you will also find useful downloadable source material from the Museum’s collections to support both the Hetty Feather Teacher’s Notes and further study of the Foundling Hospital during the Victorian period. To see the material supporting tasks in the Pupil’s Notes click here.

Come and experience Hetty’s world!

Our popular KS2 Victorian Foundlings taught session provides pupils with a powerful, interactive introduction to life for poor children in Victorian Britain. For session and booking information please click here.
