When opening the Foundling Hospital in London, Coram and his supporters looked to establishments such as Venice's Ospedale della Pietà, a home for orphaned and abandoned girls, where Vivaldi taught music. This concert includes two previously unknown works by Vivaldi, which were recently discovered in the Gerald Coke Handel Collection at the Foundling Museum, and will be the first performance in modern times of the Sonata in C major RV815, and the second performance of the Sonata in D major, RV816.
