Join Dr Steven Parissien, Director of Compton Verney, for an evening of beer tasting. Hogarth’s etching Beer Street is the companion piece to Gin Lane, his polemic on London’s ‘gin craze’. In contrast, Beer Street shows the virtues of beer drinking, with the reign of prosperity, companionship and order in society. Sample the virtues of porter, IPA and stout while hearing the story of England’s most popular and convivial alcoholic drink.
