The Bloomsbury Festival returns on the weekend of 22 October with over 150 free cultural events, including exhibitions, installations, music, dance, talks, guided walks and much, much more. Russell Square is at the heart of the festival, hosting the launch for this incredible weekend on Friday 21 October from 19:00. For more information please visit www.bloomsburyfestival.org.uk.
Over the weekend, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October, the Foundling Museum will be opening its doors for free (donations welcome). See below for a full range of free events and actvities at the Museum.
Foundling Fellow Project with artisjustaword
On Saturday and Sunday experience a taste of the artisjustaword mini art school. Make a postcard as part of a printmaking project that will see your card posted to the Middle East or Eastern Europe.
British Harpsichord Society Concert
On Saturday enjoy a harpsichord concert in the Foundling Museum’s beautiful Picture Gallery. Jane Clark, Derek Adlam and Tom Foster will present an afternoon of François Couperin’s Pièces de Clavecin by popular request. In association with the British Harpsichord Society.
Family Fun: Thomas Coram Live!
The magic of drama brings Foundling Hospital founder Thomas Coram back to life! Meet Coram as he wonders through the Museum on Saturday telling stories about his time in the Americas and how he opened the Foundling Hospital in London.
Enjoy an afternoon concert in the Foundling Museum’s beautiful Picture Gallery. Critically acclaimed Veronika Eberle and Shai Wosner will perform a violin and piano recital.
Bloomsbury Festival also offers you an opportunity to see the Foundling Voices exhibition and take part in free family fun activities.

Handel: Fireworks and Frolics by The Amadè Players

Celebrating Vauxhall Gardens, this concert will include Handel’s famous Music for the Royal Fireworks, originally performed at Vauxhall Gardens in 1749 to celebrate the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle, and repeated four weeks later at the Foundling Hospital.
