What People Say About Us
Chief Executive, The English Association
Thanks for all the work you and your team put into last night’s poetry event – I thought it went superbly well. ‘What a great venue!’ said the chair of the Fellowship committee in an email this morning ‘ a really enjoyable evening’. Says it all really. Once again, thanks for all your help!
We just wanted to say once again a big thank you for Saturday evening, it was fantastic. We have had so many text messages and e-mails from our guests saying what a fantastic venue the Foundling was and lots of them have said it was the best such evening that they have been too.

We all greatly enjoyed our visit to the Foundling Museum - the guided tour was excellent and all the staff were extremely helpful. Please also thank the Cafe staff who provided the delightful light lunch and very considerable service.
We had the most fantastic trip with you, everyone really enjoyed it. Linda was a brilliant tour guide, really enthusiastic and friendly and very patient with handling our group dynamics. A huge thank you to the museum and Linda for facilitating such a wonderful event. I hope we can work together again soon.
I am writing to thank you and your team for all the hard work that went into making our Rhodes Olympic Reception a great success. We were delighted with how the event was received and many of the guests commented on what a unique and interesting venue the Foundling Museum was. We were particularly grateful to the staff that helped on the night, all of whom contributed to the smooth running of the evening.
Thank you very much indeed for such immaculate organisation of our event. All went perfectly well and we have had some lovely comments from all that attended. A wonderful evening had by all at such an interesting, and "moving" venue. Thanks to the team at the Foundling Museum for making us feel most welcome and making the evening a complete success.
Thank you we had a wonderful time, our students thoroughly enjoyed their tour. The guide was so informative and alive and we felt thoroughly spoilt. We hope you will receive more of our students in the next academic year!
We had a lovely day at the museum yesterday, from our lunch (with free wine!) through our museum wanderings to our afternoon hot chocolate! We particularly enjoyed the Vauxhall Gardens exhibition, and we all commented that we had never met such friendly, helpful museum staff.
Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed the talk on Vauxhall Pleasure gardens on Friday. I have not been to an exhibition at the Foundling Museum before and was impressed at how much information The Triumph of Pleasure contained, and how clearly and accessibly it was presented. Tim, the speaker's enthusiasm was very infectious and we felt that we learnt a huge amount. We are recommending it to all our friends and I will definitely be reading up on Erasmus Darwin as Tim recommended!
I very much enjoyed my visit to the Museum on Thursday morning plus the wonderful bonus of seeing the work of Quentin Blake and hearing him talk about his work. However, I really do feel that the recorded testimonies of former pupils of the Hospital should also have earphones attached because, when more than one recording is being played, they each detract from the others. That is my only criticism. It is a wonderful museum.
