What People Say About Us

I very much enjoyed my visit to the Museum on Thursday morning plus the wonderful bonus of seeing the work of Quentin Blake and hearing him talk about his work. However, I really do feel that the recorded testimonies of former pupils of the Hospital should also have earphones attached because, when more than one recording is being played, they each detract from the others. That is my only criticism. It is a wonderful museum.

Thank you so much for making our visit to the Foundling Museum so informative and enjoyable. It was a first time visit for almost all our members and they were fascinated and moved by the Museum. I think many of them will return at some point to spend more time reading and listening. Thank you for your help and advice to me when planning the visit and for your excellent tour. Would you please thank the guide, Janet as well- I know her group were delighted with their guided tour.

I’m touched by the history of foundling museum and its connection to London childhood. NHS PETER PAN I have chose this nickname for show my support to the cause of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children and Coram . I played the rule of the Boy that never grows up because I like it. Inside that costume, something changed inside me. I start to get touched by children who deserve help and I learn the strong power of the joy for them. Peter is something of magical and patients at Great Ormond Street need it very much for get smile again as well children of Coram family for have great adventures. Bloomsbury is children quarter in London with so precious charities who look after them for give them a better future. There is a Economic problem but they will pass this period with the help of parents ad their charities.

I very much enjoyed our visit in London, the highlight of the day was the Foundling Museum, which had been recommended to me. It made such an impression, especially as it is still fairly recent that people thought about child birth so differently. Now we welcome babies whether the mothers are married or not, young or older, whatever the situation. But back then it was harsh. I had read Coram Boy a long time ago, but had forgotten about it. Yesterday I bought a copy and I will read it again. It will be a different experience this time because of our visit. The Quentin Blake exhibition is fantastic. My husband was especially so taken by it; he bought the book and will be studying the technique of the drawings. The building itself of the museum is worth a visit and it is beautifully situated there in Brunswick Square.

To all the wonderful staff at the Foundling, thank you for putting on such a lovely Sapphire Battersea day. Our trip over from Guernsey was well worth it! The staff were so friendly and made the day very special-and made lots of girls and (a few!) boys happy. Sofia and I will be back another time....

May I just take this moment to thank the Foundling Museum for taking so much time and effort to accommodate our school group. The students found it really beneficial, especially taking the time to put some context into it. I believe it will have a valuable impact in their directorial interpretation when staging Coram Boy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Foundling Museum on 1 December - all the members were very enthusiastic - and only wished that we could have stayed longer, but as is always the case on these occasions it can only be a tasting experience. Both guides were excellent and it was a pleasure to listen to them share their enthusiasm and knowledge of the venue with us. Do please convey our appreciation and thanks to Sue and Linda. The visit couldn't have been smoother and I do thank you for all your helpfulness. To have had the flexibility of timings for the start of the tours was tremendous and that really helped me stick to our rather tight time table. Many thanks.

I just wanted to let you know how much we all enjoyed our visit to the Foundling Museum yesterday. We were warmly greeted and all had a really good lunch in the cafe before doing our own thing in the museum. It is all so interesting, and at times heart rending, and I feel everyone should pay a visit. Please thank all the staff, particularly in the cafe, and thank you for your help in making the arrangements.

The book,"An Introduction to the Tokens at the Foundling Museum" is a great memento of my visit to the museum and the exhibit, Threads of Feeling. Seeing those scraps of cloth and ribbon really gives one a sense of the desperation the mothers (for the most part) felt in giving up their children, for what they must have hoped was a temporary period.
